Title Night Sky Observing
Description Find the Milky Way, Jupiter, craters on the Moon, the center of the Galaxy, star clusters, and nebula. Telescopes available. Dress warmly; bring a flashlight.
Dates 09 and 10 July and 06 and 07 August
Time 10:30 p.m. on the 9th and 10th of July ~ 10:00 p.m. on the 6th and 7th of August

Description The aurora borealis paints the night sky red and green. Discover the cause of these colors while viewing images demonstrating the beauty of the aurora. Learn how to observe and photograph this night-time wonder.

Description Yellowstone's dry climate and dark skies provide great opportunities for viewing the night sky. Learn how to use star charts to find constellations. See the objects Galileo saw and compare those with close-up views taken by space probes.

Stars Over Yellowstone is presented by The Museum of the Rockies and its partners, including the Southwest Montana Astronomical Society and the Abaetern Academy. The Museum of the Rockies is in Bozeman, Montana, at 600 Kagy Blvd. 406-994-2251.
